Schedule pumping
Name, phone and service address are required. Two optional boxes help get the job priced properly before anyone drives out: the size of the tank if you know it, and roughly when it was last pumped. On Long Island a lot of homeowners genuinely do not know either — that is fine, say so, and it gets established on site.
What matters more here than in most places is what is in the ground. A single cesspool, a ring with an overflow pool, and a tank feeding a leaching pool are three different jobs. If you know which you have, say. If you do not, say that instead.
Backup / overflow
Sewage backing into the house, liquid surfacing over the pool, or a smell outside that will not clear. Send this one and it gets moved to the front of the day. Stop putting water into the system while you wait — no laundry, no dishwasher, showers only if you have to.
If the cover has cracked, collapsed or sunk, keep people and animals away from it and say so in the message. That is a safety problem before it is a plumbing problem.
See what I qualify for
This is the grant tab, and it is the one worth your time if your system is old. Give us the address and whether you are on a cesspool or a septic tank — there is an optional box for it — and we will come back with what the county and state grants would cover at that property, and whether anything about the parcel complicates it.
Useful to mention if you know it: roughly when the house was built, how often the system is pumped, and whether anything has surfaced in the yard. A system pumped twice a year is a different application from one pumped every three, because a documented failure is prioritized ahead of everything else.
What happens next
You get a reply with the likely diagnosis, a price where a price can be given, and the grant position where grants are in play. Nothing is booked until you agree the number. The work itself is carried out by local licensed, permitted contractors.
